New York City and Brooklyn Engagement Photos | Times Square, DUMBO, and Loveless Coffee

New York City is an incredible place for engagement photos, and this session was especially meaningful since I was visiting the city to photograph a dear friend of mine. Even though I’m not local to NYC, getting to explore the city with them and document this season of life made the experience even more special.

We started the session on my first evening in New York City, taking a few engagement photos in Times Square at night. Times Square offers a fun, energetic backdrop with glowing lights, movement, and iconic city scenery. Sessions here create cinematic images that feel uniquely NYC and are perfect for couples who love a lively, urban atmosphere, which is exactly what these two are all about.

The following morning, we woke up early and headed to Brooklyn for the second part of the session. The DUMBO neighborhood in Brooklyn is a popular spot for engagement photography thanks to its cobblestone streets, waterfront views, and classic New York City skyline. Early morning light in DUMBO allows for softer, more romantic photos while still capturing the character of the city. And, you get to beat the many visitors this part of Brooklyn sees come mid-morning which is essential.

We ended the session at Loveless Coffee in Brooklyn, which added a relaxed and personal element to the photos. Coffee shops are great engagement session locations because they create a natural, lifestyle feel. Loveless Coffee’s warm and cozy atmosphere made it easy to capture candid moments and genuine connection.

While this session was extra special because it was for a close friend, it was a great reminder how exploring multiple areas of the city can create a diverse and storytelling-focused gallery.
